*These are my notes from church today using the YouVersion live app:

II Corinthians 4:5-16 NKJV For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So then death is working in us, but life in you. And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. http://bible.com/114/2co.4.5-16.NKJV

--------------------------- Although we may want to go home, we are renewed day by day in him and we have work to do here.

--------------------------- Philippians 3:20 NKJV For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, http://bible.com/114/php.3.20.NKJV

--------------------------- Envoke your Kingdom rights.

--------------------------- Attitude is the way we perceive life, the glasses through which we view the events and circumstances around us.

--------------------------- As glasses change your perspective, so a new way of thinking or viewing the world will change your way of being and acting.

--------------------------- Life viewed outside of eternity is out of focus

--------------------------- We were created for eternity. When you view this 70-100 years from the perspective of 1,000,000,000,000s of years... it's going to change what you do and want.

--------------------------- I Corinthians 15:19 NKJV If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable. http://bible.com/114/1co.15.19.NKJV

We are to live life in light of Eternity Thoughts on Eternity 1. We were created for Eternity

--------------------------- Every desire is rooted in the desire for God. If you desire anything bad, go get it from good instead.

--------------------------- Ecclesiastes 3:11 NASB He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end. http://bible.com/100/ecc.3.11.NASB

Ecclesiastes 3:14 NASB I know that everything God does will remain forever; there is nothing to add to it and there is nothing to take from it, for God has so worked that men should fear Him. http://bible.com/100/ecc.3.14.NASB

2. This life with all its stuff is temporary

--------------------------- Things that are not of God are evaporating mist but the things that are of God carry through each day off the future.

--------------------------- II Corinthians 4:18 NKJV while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. http://bible.com/114/2co.4.18.NKJV

II Peter 3:10 NKJV But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. http://bible.com/114/2pe.3.10.NKJV

3. Consider what we are heading toward -A new body -A new heavens and earth

--------------------------- Shalom: The way things are supposed to be. Nothing missing nothing broken everything while and complete.

--------------------------- II Peter 3:13 NKJV Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. http://bible.com/114/2pe.3.13.NKJV

The Judgement seat of Christ II Corinthians 5:10 NKJV For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. http://bible.com/114/2co.5.10.NKJV

4. Our view of Eternity is foundational to our life on this earth

It determines our choices Colossians 3:1-2 NKJV

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. http://bible.com/114/col.3.1-2.NKJV

Matthew 6:19-21 NKJV “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. http://bible.com/114/mat.6.19-21.NKJV

It determines our response to trials II Corinthians 4:17-18 NKJV For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. http://bible.com/114/2co.4.17-18.NKJV

Romans 8:18 NKJV For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. http://bible.com/114/rom.8.18.NKJV

It determines the way we live life

--------------------------- We need to live and fulfil our purpose in light of eternity. How many of your pages will carry through to eternity.

--------------------------- Hebrews 11:13-14 NKJV These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. http://bible.com/114/heb.11.13-14.NKJV

Only one life, 'twill soon be past, Only what's done for Christ will last. "Some want to live within the sound of church or chapel bell; I want to run a rescue shop, within a yard of hell."

--------------------------- It's time to re assess what is most important. ---------------------------

What is a Topos? A strategic position of opportunity and influence

What does Topos mean?

Topos is a Greek word meaning: "Place, or Opportunity"

Properly:

  • Any portion of space marked off, as it were, from surrounding, space

Metaphorically:

  • The condition or station held by one in any company or assembly
  • opportunity, power, occasion for acting
  • A spot (general in space, but limited by occupancy; whereas chora is a large but participle locality).

As used by me:

Topos is a strategic position of opportunity and influence

Topos: Your Calling

Everyone has a God given calling on this earth. There is something you were created and designed to do. What you are doing now may be "The Calling"; or, it may be the calling for this season of your life. Either way, you are either in your Topos, or you need to find it.

As you read the stories of biblical heros like Noah, Abraham, Joseph, Moses, David, Nehemiah, Peter, and Paul... etc... you find that God put them in the right place to do the right thing at the right time.

They ended up in their Topos, a strategic place of opportunity and influence. Some men, like king Saul before David were in their Topos but never reached their full potential because of sin, disobedience, or laziness.

I'm on a life-long quest to reach the center of my Topos... and I want to help you find yours too.

Follow this blog to take that journey with me.

What does it mean to be Empowered To Prosper?

*I'm combining several former blogs into one, some pages or posts are being republished. Enjoy!

What does Empowered Too Prosper Mean?

Those who belong to Jesus are EMPOWERED TOO PROSPER.

I say TOO because we are ALSO:

The curse came into this earth as a result of Adam's sin. We are redeemed from sin through the finished work of Jesus. The Blessing of Adam, Noah, Abraham, then Jesus is now restored to US. We have all the blessing says we have. We are redeemed from the curse and the blessing has been restored to us. Abraham was BLESSED! If you research people who walked in THE BLESSING throughout the scripture you see that they all prospered in every way. So to be BLESSED is to be empowered to prosper, spiritually, physically, financially, socially and in all other ways.

THE original BLESSING that was passed to us:

Adam:
Genesis 1:28

28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Abraham:
Genesis 12

1 Now the Lord had said to Abram: "Get out of your country, From your family And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you. 2 I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

Genesis 14:14-24

18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. 19 And he blessed him and said: "Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand." And he gave him a tithe of all.

To Believers:
Galatians 3:14

14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Romans 8:11

11 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as he raised Christ from the dead, he will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you.

The Result:
Proverbs 10:22

22 The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.

Mark 16:15-18

15 And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved. But anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned. 17 These signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak new languages. 18 They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won't hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick and heal them."

We are Empowered to Prosper through His Word. Come take a journey with me. My Daddy in heaven takes GREAT JOY in my prosperity and your too.

Psalms 35:27

27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, "Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant."

Other Scripture:
Galatians 3:13

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"),

Joshua 1:6-8

6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Psalms 35:27

27 Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, "Let the Lord be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant."

Deuteronomy 8:18

18 And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

Deuteronomy 28

Describes THE BLESSING and the Curse! If it's under the curse you've been redeemed from. Including poverty and sickness of all kinds.

Genesis 28:4

And give you the blessing of Abraham, To you and your descendants with you, That you may inherit the land In which you are a stranger, Which God gave to Abraham."

Change: It's harder than you thought and better than you imagined

I'm at the tail end of an end and the head of a beginning.

After 7 years in Nort Texas (Fort Worth), we moved. We spent the last few months getting the house ready to sell, selling the house, and moving. A week (03/19 - 03/24) was spent on the road and since then we lived in a hotel until we could find a place to live.

On Friday (03/31/17), we moved into our new house (rental). We're still unpacking, building storage shelves, figuring out to live with a basement for washer/dryer (odd).

We just found a store (EntertainmentMart) that sells games, Pokemon cards, and more. They allow the kids and adults to come play against each other live every Monday and Wed. So the kids are now adjusting.

There are things I already really enjoy about North Idaho... some of the transitions were easier than others.

Some things didn't go the way I wanted and some things went better. I just needed to learn to flow, slow down, breath, and listen... it's always about listening to the Holy Spirit.

Well... that's my update for now. I'll write more later.
